IMPORTANT
PRODUCT QUALITY NOTICE
We regretfully inform you of a problem
we uncovered today with three of our ROYAL CANIN Veterinary
Diet™
dry diets. Based on testing
conducted at an independent laboratory, we have determined
that there is a melamine derivative in some of our pet
foods that contain rice protein concentrate.
As a precaution, we are announcing a voluntary recall of
all of the Royal Canin USA products that contain rice
protein concentrate. Although we have no confirmed cases of
illness in pets, we have decided to voluntarily remove all
of our products containing rice protein concentrate. We
have taken this aggressive stance to avoid any confusion
for our customers about what products are safe and what
products may be affected. The following products are being
recalled:
ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet™
Canine EARLY CARDIAC EC22™
dry
ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet™
Canine SKIN SUPPORT SS21™
dry
ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Diet™
Feline HYPOALLERGENIC HP23™
dry
Our records
indicate that you may have purchased some of these
products. These
products should not be fed to any pets. Please contact your
clients currently feeding these products to determine if
they are feeding these products. Pet owners should stop
feeding their pets the product, and return it for a refund.
If pet owners whose pets are on this product are concerned
about the health of their pet, and wish to screen their pet
for evidence of renal disease, we will assume all related
costs.
Along with this announcement, Royal Canin USA announces it
will no longer use any Chinese suppliers for any of our
vegetable proteins.
Please do not hesitate to contact your ROYAL CANIN
Veterinary Diet™ representative, Melizette Miranda (787
460 64 72) or myself directly (787 344 50 74) with any
questions or concerns that you may have.
We genuinely regret that this has occurred as we place the
highest priority on the health of pets.
Sincerely
Fabien Allain
